We were very proud of the 6 students from 6th Class who attended the Lifetime Lab Science Quiz in UCC. They had a terrific night and represented the school very well.
Recently 6th Class were revising the topics of Sa Bhaile in Gaeilge and Money in maths. In art we thought it might be nice to design our very own House Money Boxes. Take a look at our village below.
On the 16th of September 2015, 6th Class went on a school trip to the Lifetime Lab in Cork City. It was very interesting and we learned lots of new facts. We leaned about Light and Sound and carried out lots of fun experiments.
Sports day is one of the most anticipated days of the school year and this year was no exception! We had a fantastic day where all the pupils participated in a variety of races, including space hopper races, bean bag races, wheelbarrow races, spoon and potato races etc. We also had races for all the mothers, fathers, grandparents and toddlers too! One of the highlights of this special day is of course the soccer match between sixth class and the teachers. The teachers got off to a flying start this year as they scored the first goal but the sixth class pupils weren’t long making a terrific comeback, making the final score 3-1 to sixth class. This was an extremely enjoyable event in the school and we would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all the parents and relatives who kept the enthusiasm going for the whole day as they cheered and supported everybody throughout the different sporting events. Below are some pictures of our fun sports day.

The boys and girls soccer teams did fantastic to reach the finals of the FAI 5 a side soccer in Turners Cross. Both teams came second in their group and narrowly missed out on going to the Munster Finals. They got huge support from the rest of the school who came to watch, which really added to the atmosphere of the day. The boys and girls were presented their medals by John Dunleavy (Captain) and Gary Buckley who both play mid field for Cork City FC.
Well done to the boys and girls in 6th class who made their Confirmation.
My Confirmation Day.
By Erica Aigbologa.
My Confirmation day took place on the 21st of April. It was a great day to look forward to. When the big day finally came we I so nervous and excited. All of us wore a cream robe with a dark red tassel. Our opening song was ‘Happy in the Presence of the Lord’. Everybody sang brilliantly. When going up to be confirmed with the chrism oil, the bishop would say a few words and we answered politely, remembering to thank him. When mass ended most of us stayed for a picture I also did. After I had my picture taken, I got in the car and went to my nans for something to eat. Soon after that I went to town with my sister to spend my money. I got some nice clothes and jewelry then I went to get my phone and something to eat.
Today the 4th ,5th and 6th class children hosted Science Day 2015 in their classrooms. The Junior Infants had the opportunity to try the experiments. Here are some lovely photos of the Junior Infants interacting with the other children.
Well done to the 6th class boys and girls teams who qualified for the finals of the 5 a side soccer in Turners Cross.
Both teams played exceptionally well and topped their groups. It is a huge achievement to get the opportunity to play in Turners Cross representing their school.
