On Friday the 30th of January an ecar came to the school. The pupils had already learned all about ecars during the ‘Green Machines’ workshop which was provided by Sandy McGroarty in December. As the ecar is entirely run on electricity, it is therefore extremely environmentally friendly. Instead of putting fuel into the car, it’s battery must be charged in a similar way to how we charge our phones/ ipads/ tablets..etc.It takes approximately eight hours each night to fully charge it. However, should one need to charge the car quickly, there is a second charging point in the car which takes about 30mins to charge. All the pupils and staff, and especially the Green Schools Committee, would like to say a huge thank you to Gerard Stapleton for bringing the ecar to our school.
