On Friday 17th of January, the Green School Committee members from fourth, fifth and sixth class completed a ‘walkability audit’. This audit investigated how pedestrian friendly the route between our school and Eastgate Road is for future walks (this will be explained in detail at a later date). The pupils, with the aid of Mr. M.Rea, Ms. L.Daly, Ms. B.Walsh and Ms. Sandy McGroarty (Green School Development Officer), recorded various items of importance along the proposed walking route e.g. the distance of the walk, any road signs that are present and any safety improvements that could be made along the route. Watch this space as the Green School Committee undertake more initiatives to promote the use of sustainable travel.
