On Wednesday 6th June, fourth class initially visited the eerie Cork City Gaol before exploring the medieval walled City of Cork with local historian and expert John Collins. Our walking tour began at the impressive St. Finbarre’s Cathedral, before progressing to the imposing Elizabeth Fort and following the trail from original Viking settlements into the medieval city. We walked along the streets of Cork mapping the original water ways and viewed sections of the original 12th century medieval city walls.
